Forget Karaoke nights. Forget the fear of singing alone. Discover the buzz when your voice becomes
part of a bigger sound. Chelmsford Community Gospel Choir is opening its doors to anyone who loves singing in the shower but wants more – more volume, more excitement, more rhythm, more challenge – but in a safe, friendly, encouraging group. Come and listen, feel the beat, find your voice and join in with uplifting and soulful pieces chosen from modern, African and spiritual gospel traditions.
A community organisation with a membership of nearly 30, we are a diverse and inclusive bunch: all ages, black and white, women and men, Christians, other faiths and none. What unites us is our love of gospel music and our desire to entertain and inspire everyone in our local community with our sound.
Our members are ordinary people from in and around Chelmsford. But our principal director, CeCelia Wickham Anderson, is extraordinary. A professional singer, director and workshop leader, she brings over 20 years’ experience and a repertoire that includes gospel, spiritual, jazz, African and Caribbean genres.

Thursday 31st May will be a relaxed, easy-going, experience. No pressure, no exposure. Just great sounds and a lot of fun.
Want to do something completely different in Chelmsford?
